Obituary of Robert E. Kirby

Robert E. Kirby Westbrookville, NY Robert E. Kirby, a lifetime resident of the area and Retired Therapy Aid for the Middletown Psych Center passed away on Friday January 29, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Wayne NJ. He was 79. The son of the late Elmer Kirby and Mabel Wickham Dollaway he was born on March 22, 1936 in Middletown, NY. Robert was a dairy farmer before he started his career as a therapy aid and was a loving husband, father and great provider who adored his family. He will be greatly missed to all those who loved him. Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years, Carol Roberson Kirby, children; Robert Kirby Jr. of Summitville, Gerald Kirby of Westbrookville, Lisa Salma and her husband Joseph of Pine Bush, and Susan Fredell and her husband David of Dingmans Ferry, PA, grandchildren; Kelly, Jason, Kenneth, Joey, Kyle, Rachel, Erin, Katelin, Daniel, Brendan, and Shannan. Brother, Raymond Kirby, brother in law, Lou Roberson and his wife Del, sister in law, Joan Warren. Robert is further survived by 4 nieces and 4 nephews and is predeceased by his sons, Kenneth A. Kirby and David Kirby, and his brother, Richard Kirby. Visitation will be held on Saturday February 6, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush, NY. Funeral services will be offered at 8:30pm at the funeral home.
