John Vincent Giuliano Pine Bush, NY John Vincent Giuliano 85, of Pine Bush N.Y. passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer on March 26, 2016. He was 85. John was born in Springfield Massachusetts on October 20, 1930 to the parents of Francesco and Rosanna Falcone Giuliano. He was raised in a three story brick tenement house shared with other generations of his close knit Italian family. After graduating from Cathedral High School in Springfield, John attended Boston College where he played football for two years, before completing his undergraduate studies at Springfield College, where he received a degree in Physical Education. Following college he served his country in the Korean War before returning to his home in Massachusetts. He later received a master’s degree from New York University. After graduation, John went to a job fair on long Island N.Y. where he was hired by the North Bellmore School District as a physical education teacher. It was there where he met another young teacher Eileen Julia Delaney, whom he later married and raised his family with. John and Eileen built their home in Pine Bush in 1964 and made it their permanent residence after retiring from teaching in 1986. John prided himself on living a healthy lifestyle, following the simple moto, spirit, mind and body. After his retirement, he was hired by the Middletown YMCA where he was a fitness trainer in the weight room until age 82 when he could no longer work because of his disease. The staff of the YMCA became his second family. He embraced your friendship and loved each and everyone one of you. John was a parishioner and alter reader at the Church of the Infant Savior for over 50 years. He loved challenging himself with memorization techniques and would often do all kinds of word puzzles or could recite family member’s social security, vehicle I.D or license plate number, to name just a few. He will also be remembered for his hand made greeting cards given out at the Holidays. John enjoyed being outdoors; splitting firewood with his famous hickory handled wood maul, and spent countless hours in his vegetable and flower gardens. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a man with class, dignity, perseverance and a gentle heart in the face of adversity. John leaves behind his son and daughter in law, Kevin and Linda Brock Giuliano of Pine Bush, his dear friend and companion Elizabeth Cartisano of Pine Bush, his sister Barbara Giuliano of Agawam Massachusetts and his four grandsons, living in Pine Bush, John Giuliano and fiancé Keri Kiernan, James Giuliano and companion Jena Knight, Michael Giuliano and fiancé Jennifer Cornish and Joseph Giuliano and fiancé Kayla Cowell.
