Paul V. Pesce June 22, 1929 – January 31, 2017 Pearl River, NY (formerly Pine Bush, NY) Paul V. Pesce, a longtime resident of Pearl River and formerly of Pine Bush, entered into eternal rest on January 31, 2017 at home. He was affectionately known as Paulie and was 87 years old. The son of the late Amelia and Michael Pesce, Paul was born on June 22, 1929, in NYC. He spent his childhood in Brooklyn (Canarsie) along with two brothers and a sister. He was a carpenter by trade and advanced to become a construction superintendent. Paul was a veteran of the Korean War and proudly served our country in the US Army 25th Infantry Division. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star and the UN Service Medal. Paul was a loving father, grandfather, son and brother. He adored his four daughters and always said “I love you” to them. Through the years he was involved with the VFW, American Legion, Loyal Order of Moose and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Paul was artistic and found enjoyment in calligraphy, photography and painting. He had an incredible memory and loved his spicy food. Paul is survived by his daughters: Patricia Ciarelli and husband Michael of Napanoch, Cathy Parlier and husband John of Cuddebackville, Diane Angeloni and husband Mark of Bullville; nine grandchildren: Melissa and husband Theo, Michael and wife Starla, Paula and husband Felix, Philip, Matthew, Teressa and husband Kevin, Breanna, Nicholas and Anthony; ten great grandchildren: Michelle, Dominick, Gianna, Valentino, Julianna, Mya, Stefano, Theo, Alonzo and Aria; and his sister Marie Sudol. Paul was predeceased by his daughter Paula Pesce, brothers Frank and Mickey Pesce, sister-in-law Florence Pesce and brother-in-law Raymond Sudol. Our family would like to give thanks to NY Healthcare and a special heartfelt thanks to his aide Marie Charles. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc., 1525 Burlingham Road, Pine Bush, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, February 6, 2017, at Saint Paul’s R.C. Church, 2800 Rte 17K, Bullville, NY. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY with military honors. Arrangements are under the guidance of William M.
