James R. Brown a self employed painter and longtime resident of the area passed away at his home on Saturday October 14, 2017.  He was 70. The son of the late William R. Brown and Isabel B. McIlroy Brown, he was born on June 19, 1947 in Bronx, NY. A Veteran of the US Army, James served his country from 1967-1969. Survivors include his loving sisters, Cecilia Stewart of Middletown, Ann Roe of Washingtonville, Elaine Bay of Riverview, MI, Virginia Brown of Bradford, MA, Constance White of Pine Bush, and Marjorie Brown Conklin of Bloomingburg, brother; Robert Brown of Pine Bush and many nieces and nephews. James is predeceased by his sister, Madeline Freeman. Visitation will be held on Saturday October 21, 2017 from 10am -12pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush, NY 12566.  Funeral services will be offered at 12:00pm at the funeral home.
