Patricia Leschke, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2024, at her home in Montgomery, NY, at the young age of 76 surrounded by her family after a long courageous battle with illness. Born on January 3, 1948, in Manchester, England, Patricia was the daughter of John and Miriam McCormick.

Patricia's vibrant spirit and zest for life touched everyone she met. After moving to the United States, she embraced her new home with open arms, and her warmth, kindness and wit became a hallmark of her character. On May 7, 1982, she married David Leschke ,the love of her life, in Staten Island, NY surrounded by family and friends and together they celebrated 42 years of love and companionship, creating a beautiful family that became the center of her world.

Patricia was a dedicated mother to her daughter, Alyson, she nurtured her dreams and Inspirations and was always found supporting her through all of life’s challenges. She was also an adoring grandmother to her two grandchildren, Griffyn and Nora, who were the true lights of her life. Patricia's eyes would light up at the mere mention of their names, and she cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.

Throughout her life, Patricia held various jobs, showcasing her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. In her early years, she worked at the Anderson Annex, where her impeccable memory made her renowned for never needing to write down an order. During the summers, she could be found joyfully running the snack bar at the South Shore Swim Club while raising her daughter. Later in life, she worked at the gift shop in the Thruway in Walden, NY, where her engaging personality brought joy to many customers. However, her greatest joy came in her later years when she devoted herself to spending time with her grandchildren.

Patricia was known for her exceptional culinary skills and had a passion for cooking that brought family and friends together around the dining table. She loved shopping and enjoyed spending time at the beach, soaking up the sun and making cherished memories at the Jersey Shore with her family. Her laughter and love will be missed by all who knew her.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, sister Miriam and brother-in-law Alan. She is survived by her loving husband David; her daughter Alyson and her husband Tim; her sisters Jane and Elizabeth; her brother John; her sister-in-law Kathleen; grandchildren Griffyn and Nora; and numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.


The family would like to take this opportunity to express their heartfelt gratitude to Orange and Sullivan Hospice for their compassionate care during Patricia's final weeks. Their support made a profound difference in her journey and provided comfort to her family during this challenging time.

In honor of Patricia’s memory, the family is asking that donations may be made to Orange and Sullivan Hospice, reflecting her spirit of giving and love for others.

A private funeral service will be held to celebrate Patricia’s life, with the family asking for privacy as they mourn her loss. Her legacy of love and family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
