Bob was the man that interviewed and hired me @ Shortline/Coach USA in Feb 1987. We hit it off from that day forward. He gave me a chance with no truck/bus experience because of my growing up on a farm not far from his house. That paid off, I’m still driving bus here after 38yrs!
I worked on his vehicles while I was a mechanic then as well. He loved his family,motor home and racing. He also enjoyed Conway Twitty! We called him RVP or fluffy bc of his perfectly groomed hair! He was sharp as a tack, witty and had an infectious laugh. I had the pleasure of working with him for 26yrs and called him my friend. His son married one of my high school friends, he was so proud of his kids and their kids… very sad to learn of his passing. I’m thankful for him giving me a chance and all the lessons he taught me.
