John J. Maragliano Jr.
July 22, 1948 – April 12, 2025

John Maragliano Jr., 76, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025. A proud American, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a man of boundless character, John lived a life full of love, laughter, and purpose.

John served with honor as a  Special Police Officer of the Englewood Police Department and was the co-founder of American Shoring, Inc., where his dedication, vision, and tireless work helped build a business rooted in trust and excellence. He believed in giving back, and did so as a proud member of the Elks Club and the Knights of Columbus, as well as a lifetime member of the Wallkill Rod And Gun Club. Additionally, he was a regular donor to the Catholic War Veterans organization.

He was the kind of man who lit up a room—not just with his stories, but with his unforgettable humor. A gifted storyteller, John could make anyone laugh, and his tales—told with perfect timing and charm—will be remembered and retold by family and friends for years to come.

A lover of the good things in life, John had many passions. He was a lifelong New York Rangers fan, a classic rock enthusiast, a collector of vintage cars, and a lover of a “real” Italian meal. He was always up for a game of poker with his buddies and was once awarded in the top 20 competitive shooters by the Governor of the state of NJ. He had a sharp sense of style, always seen with a favorite watch or the newest pair of sneakers. His spirit was youthful, his taste impeccable, and his joy contagious.

John also had a lifelong love of animals. From his first German Shepherd to his meaningful partnership with a wildlife rescue organization—where he helped rehabilitate injured and orphaned wild animals—John had a tender heart for all creatures. Whether feeding birds, deer, and squirrels in his backyard or offering comfort to an animal in need, he found peace and connection in the natural world.

Above all, John was deeply proud of his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Maragliano his children, Patricia Maragliano, Pamela Maragliano-Muniz and John Maragliano III and their spouses, Richard Muniz and Melissa Maragliano, and his cherished grandchildren Megan Maragliano, John Maragliano IV, Jimmy Lopoulos and Cassie Lopoulos —each of whom he adored and who were, without question, the greatest joy of his life.

John Maragliano Jr. will be remembered not just for what he did, but for who he was—a man of integrity, humor, loyalty, and love. His stories, his laughter, and his legacy will live on in all who had the honor to know him.
