Carol A. Nowicki

Carol Ann Nowicki, a longtime resident of Pine Bush, NY, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 in Middletown, NY. She was 74. The daughter of the late Earl and Ann Hempler, she was born on February 25, 1951 in Goshen, NY. Carol spent several years working for adults with intellectual disabilities. She retired as a Program Manager for NYS. Carol enjoyed camping, watching crime/mystery shows, decorating for holidays, playing slot machines, browsing at dollar stores, and playing with her pets. She was an animal lover and looked forward to feeding the birds. Carol especially loved hummingbirds and watching them in her yard. Survivors include her husband Eugene (Gene/Red) Nowicki, daughter Lindsey Nowicki-Burke, and son-in-law Larry Burke. She is also survived by her brother Richard Hempler, brother Earl Hempler and his partner Christine (Chris) Benson, sister Phronsie Hempler Meltz and brother-in-law Joseph Meltz, brother William (Billy) Hempler and his late partner Vicki McDarby, several other cherished family members, and her three beloved pets Loki, Lucifer, and Rascal. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 10am-12pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, Inc. in Pine Bush, NY. Burial will follow at New Prospect Cemetery in Pine Bush, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Middletown Humane Society in Middletown, NY and/or to the National Auduban Society in Carol's memory.
