Gemma T. D’Ambrosio

Pine Bush, NY

Gemma Theresa D’Ambrosio, age 91, a resident of Pine Bush (formerly of Cold Spring, NY) passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025 at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh, NY.  Born in Yonkers, NY on July 14, 1933, Gemma was the daughter of the late Joseph Luciano and Yolanda Rapa Luciano.  She was married to her beloved late husband Carl Leo D’Ambrosio for 60 years. . Gemma was a retired employee from Fixtures Distributing Company in Cold Spring, NY and was a longtime member of the North Highlands Engine Co #1 Ladies Auxiliary.  In addition, she was an active member of the Crawford Senior Citizens group in Pine Bush.  Gemma enjoyed baking daily for her friends and family and they absolutely loved her “goodies”, especially her pizzelle.  

Survivors include her three daughters Carla McLaud and her husband Peter Prokopchak of Pine Bush, Angela Cole and her husband Kenneth of Wappingers Falls, and JoAnn D’Ambrosio of Poughkeepsie; two granddaughters Julie Michella and her husband William of New Paltz, and Sarah Cole (Andrew) of Wappingers Falls; one grandson Eric McLaud (Rosela) of Brooklyn; two great grandsons Leo and Wes of New Paltz; sister Anna Gogola of Yonkers; and brother Louis Luciano and his wife Jean of Somers.  Gemma is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great- nephews. She was also predeceased by her two older brothers Frank Luciano and Joseph Luciano.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 2-6pm at William M. Gagan Funeral Home, Inc, 1525 Burlingham Road, Pine Bush, NY with a funeral service being held at 5:30pm at the Funeral Home.  Burial will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00am at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 575 Hillside Ave, White Plains, NY.  (section F in the cemetery) Arrangements entrusted to the William M.
