In Loving Memory of Brenda Velazquez

December 25, 1961 – June 29, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Velazquez, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us on June 29th 2025 at the age of 63. Born on Christmas Day in 1961 in the Bronx, NY, Brenda brought warmth, joy, and light to every life she touched. She passed peacefully in Middletown, NY, surrounded by love.

Brenda is survived by her beloved husband, Manny Velazquez, and her cherished children: Natasha, William, Jazlyn, Jesstin, Jonathan, Januelle, and Jason. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Jayden, Ariana, Matthew, Giani, Jeremiah, Jizelle, Josie, and Bobby-Joe, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. Her legacy of love, strength, and compassion lives on in all of them, and her spirit will forever be carried in their hearts.

A dedicated and compassionate registered nurse, Brenda committed her professional life to caring for others. She carried that same sense of compassion into her home—always putting her family first, supporting each of her children unconditionally, and serving as a pillar of strength and unity.

Brenda was a breast cancer survivor, triumphing over her diagnosis in 2013 with the same bravery and determination she brought to all aspects of her life. A fighter, a survivor, and a nurturer, Brenda had a heart full of love and a spirit that uplifted everyone around her.

She found joy in the little things: family get-togethers, beach trips, and creating beautiful decorative pieces for her home. Brenda also proudly participated in breast cancer walks, advocating for strength, healing, and hope in her community.

Brenda was always there to listen with an open heart and mind, offering comfort, wisdom, and laughter. Her unwavering devotion to her family, her kindness to her loved ones and friends, and her ability to bring people together will be remembered by all who knew her.

A memorial service celebrating Brenda’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 8th, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham Road, Pine Bush, NY 12566.

Though she is no longer with us, Brenda’s memory will continue to guide and inspire us. She taught us how to live fully, love fiercely, and hold our family close. We will miss her more than words can express.
