Arnold Anthony Shavuo Jr. Obituary

Arnold H. A. Shavuo known to all his friends as Frenchie, a resident of Pine Bush, New York,  passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025 at the age of 74. He was born on May 10th,1951 in Bronx, New York. He was the son of Bernice and Arnold Shavuo. He had three brothers and a sister Howard Shavuo, Micheal Shavuo, Mark Shavuo, and Lydia Shavuo, and a cousin to Linda Scott as well as a Godfather to Eddie Cardona. Arnold survived by his wife, Melissa Shavuo, his four daughters and his only son, as well as his grandchildren.


A Veteran, Arnold served in the United States Army (Viet Nam) from 1969-1970 and served in the United States Navy on the USS Vesuvius(AE-15) as a Bupersinst from 1971-1974. He was a Life Member of the Pine Bush American Legion 1308, Pine Bush VFW 5492, and Vietnam Veterans Of America Chapter 140. Arnold also volunteered for many different positions within his Veteran organization but his favorite was volunteering to serve as Color Guard. He worked as a plumber and pipe fitter for 11 years at Castle Point VA before retiring. After retiring he spent his time listening to his favorite music, blues, jazz, R&B. He loved to dance, mow his lawn and watch old movies, sci fi, comedy and his absolute favorite THE GODFATHER ! Arnold was a funny and a loving man, he will be missed so deeply by his loved ones and friends.


Visitaion will be held on Tuesday July 29, 2025 from 10am-12pm at William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd, Pine Bush, NY 12566. Military Burial will take place 1pm at Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Craigville Rd, Goshen, NY 10924. Arrangements entrusted to the William M. Gagan Funeral Home inc.
