Thomas C. Proudford

Thomas Christopher Proudford, a resident of Thompson Ridge, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Westchester Medical Center.  He was 74 years old.  The son of Harold and Blanche Dubak Proudford, Thomas was born on May 2, 1951 in Astoria, New York.

Thomas enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1974 where he maintained avionics systems on both the F-14 Tomcat and the F-4 Phantom fighters. He was stationed in Miramar, CA and Yuma, AZ until being honorably discharged in 1978. Inspired by the Do-It-Yourself trend of the 1980s, Thomas completed a home study course on house building and physically constructed the family home in Thompson Ridge, NY.

Thomas is survived by Jacqueline, his wife of 47 years; by his sons Christopher Proudford and his wife Katherine, Adam Proudford and his wife Chantel; three grandsons, Charles, Miles, and Baker; and his sister Suzanne Dube.

Mechanically and technically inclined, he enjoyed positions in the New York Telephone Company, Thomas S. Brown Associates, Quotron, and Thomson Reuters.
