Christina A. Sova

Christina A. Sova, known affectionately as "Ma Sova," passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2025, at the age of 82. Born in New York City on December 12, 1942, Christina was the daughter of Anthony and Concetta Puccarelli.

On May 18, 1966, Christina married Joseph Sova, and the couple began their journey in Port Washington before moving their family to Walker Valley, Upstate New York, in 1972, where she lived the remainder of her life.

Christina's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, known for her absolute unconditional love; there was truly nothing she wouldn't do for them. Her door was always open, and she extended her boundless maternal love to the entire neighborhood, opening her home to many children and lovingly caring for them through babysitting. Christina's grandchildren were the absolute light of her life and her greatest happiness. A talented cook, Christina loved to share her recipes, especially her famous Italian cheesecake, which brought joy to countless gatherings. She also had a gentle heart for all living things, finding peace and happiness in caring for her beloved birds and fish.Her presence brought immense warmth, and life simply will not be the same without her in it.

Christina is survived by her loving children: Christina M. Sova, James S. Sova, and Kimberly A. Beaulieu (husband Robert). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Ashley Tate, Jewel Driggers, Nicholas Beaulieu (and his wife Amanda, who are expecting a baby), and Mark Beaulieu. She was also a loving great-grandmother to Jewel's three children.

Christina is also survived by her siblings: Antoinette Zawolik (husband Charles), John Puccarelli, and Anthony Puccarelli.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Sova; her parents, Anthony and Concetta Puccarelli; and her sister, Grace Bellomo. In keeping with Christina's spirit, there will be no formal funeral or memorial service. The family will host a Celebration of Life in the upcoming weeks.
