Janet Irene Hoag

Janet Irene (LaVoie) Hoag, 86, of Pine Bush, New York, passed away on January 11, 2026. "And now, Janet has left the building." A city girl in the country, Janet was born in the Bronx to Eugene O. and Irene Killings LaVoie on August 6, 1939. She worked for 30+ years at Consolidated Stamp in Spring Valley and was the last employee to leave the company when it moved out of state. She loved all kinds of handiwork including knitting, crocheting, needlepoint and crafts. Over the years, she read thousands of books. 

Janet is survived by her daughter Ingrid and son-in-law Chopps, many relatives, extended family and lots of friends. You all know who you are and she loved you all very much! She is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Hoag. Wally was her life and she spent it by his side, always together. Riding in the sidecar or going to Hershey, attending auctions or doing the flea market, they were never apart.

Funeral services will be held later in the spring at William M. Gagan Funeral Home, followed by burial of ashes at the Veteran's Cemetery in Goshen, New York. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan. The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the excellent care provided by Kaplan Hospice in Newburgh.
