Darla R. Krzyzak

Darla Rae Krzyzak, a resident of Middletown, NY, passed away on February 26, 2026, at the age of 81.  Daughter of Merlyn and Marion Schreiner (Geison).  Darla was born August 27, 1944, in Chadwick, IL.  She graduated from Chadwick High School in 1962. Following high school, she attended Northern Illinois University, where she studied accounting.  She worked in a variety of accounting positions throughout her life.  

Darla was married to Alex Krzyzak until he passed away in 1991.  She had three children: Donovan, Christopher, and Coralei.  They lived in several Midwest towns before moving to Pine Bush, NY.

Darla enjoyed growing up on the farm and being an active part of farming, including horseback riding and hunting. She was a talented musician, singing in choirs and playing the organ in churches.  Darla was active, athletic, and involved in many sports.  She carried that love of sports into her adulthood, enjoying watching her grandkids excel in a variety of activities.  

Survivors include her two children, Donovan (Kelly) and Christopher (Kristy), and five grandchildren: Ashlyn, Noah, Austin, Samantha, and Caden. She is also survived by her sister, Angela Harms (Morris).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Merlyn and Marion; her husband, Alex; and her daughter, Coralei.
