Joseph Henry Black, a Power Plant Operator Engineer for West Point Power Plant, and long time resident of the area, passed away on April 23, 2026 at Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown NY. He was 66. The son of the late Russell Black and Evelyn LeFort, he was born on August 25, 1959 in Fort Lee, NJ. A Veteran, Joseph served his country in the US Navy from 1979-1985. A family statement reads,” Joseph was a warm, loving man who was enjoyed and admired by all who knew him. His family and I will hold him close forever. He was truly a fisher of men. Thank you to all for your comfort and support during this difficult time.” A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc.
