Thomas Charles Brownsell

November 24, 1952 - May 19, 2026

Thomas Charles Brownsell a longtime resident of the area passed away on May 19, 2026 at Vassar Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was 73. The son of the late Robert S. Brownsell Sr. and Ruth Blake Brownsell, he was born on November 24, 1952 in Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY.  Tom served his country by joining the Navy as a seaman apprentice aboard the USS Sumpter after graduating Washingtonville High School in 1971. He was a Vietnam Veteran.

Tom loved people. He had many friends and acquaintances throughout his life . He was a real charmer. One of his favorite ice breakers when meeting people he would say, “My name is Tom, my hair is blond, my eyes are blue, I was born in 52”. He never really had anything negative to say and always tried to make everyone smile or laugh. Everyone loved Tom and he will be truly missed.

He leaves behind his Brothers, Robert Brownsell Jr., Bruce Brownsell Sr. , & Doug Brownsell, his Sister ,Beverly Brownsell (Andy Palinkas) as well as many nieces, nephews and friends that were like family. (Bobby, Penny, Millie)

He was predeceased by his parents Robert Brownsell Sr.  and Ruth Blake Brownsell, and his nephew Jacob Brownsell.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 26, 2026 from 10:00am - 12:00pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd. Pine Bush NY. Burial with Full Military Honors will immediately follow at 12:30pm at New Prospect Cemetery.
