Elizabeth Dibble Obituary
Elizabeth Dibble
Pine Bush, NY
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Elizabeth Dibble, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. Elizabeth was born on September 3,1936 in the Bronx, New York to James and Agnes Hogan. In her early 20s she and her family moved upstate to Pine Bush, where she lived for the remainder of her life.
Elizabeth married Donald Dibble in 1962 and they had three children. After her husband’s passing in 1969, she raised her children on her own. She was the matriarch of the family and was loved by all who knew her.
Her memory lives on for her generosity, kindness, her sense of humor, and how she could fix and build just about anything. She enjoyed the simple things in life and was happy in her home and being surrounded by family. She will be remembered for many things, including being faithful in her daily prayers, making meals for her family, her love for her pets, being outdoors, and making her “famous” cheesecake.
Elizabeth remained strong and faithful to the Lord, and fought until she was called home to be with her Savior.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me…And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.”
2 Timothy 4:7-8
She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Dibble and Karen Gorman, her son Don Dibble; granddaughter Ashley Maina, husband Joseph; and soon to be great grandson; granddaughter Kayli Mayou and husband Robert; her brother in law David Dibble, wife Lillian; brother in law George Cerillo, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her honorary grandchildren James, Jasmine and Grace.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Donald; great grandson Jaden Maina, son of Ashley and Joseph; sister Eileen Hughes, husband James; sister Francis Benvenuta, husband John; brother James Hogan, wife Elizabeth; sister Clair Cerillo, and also several nephews.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Elizabeth’s life on Wednesday, June 17th with visitation to be held at Gagan Funeral Home from 11AM-1PM. Funeral service will follow at 1PM. Burial will be New Prospect Cemetery.
