My thoughts and prayers are with the Pierson family. I had Mr. Pierson in tenth grade back in 1990. He was one of my favorite teachers and I often think of him. His life made a huge impact on hundreds of students. He is one of the reasons that I became a teacher myself. Mr. Pierson was such a wonderful, patient, loving man.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Pierson's family. I moved to the area in 10th grade (1974) and had Mr. Pierson for Social Studies my junior year. He was not only a wonderful teacher, but a kind and compassionate person. He truly cared for his students. He will always be remembered.

To the Pierson family: I was saddened today to read of the passing of Mr. Pierson. Like so many others I have memories of Mr. Pierson's social studies class at Pine Bush. One of my most vivid memories, one I still speak of today, was his quizzes that came from reading a portion of the New York Times. The questions could come from the summary page, the front page, or any other page. You never knew!!! Of course he was working to get his students to take an interest and learn about current events. It worked, and to this day when I read it I still remember those quizes and what he did for all of us. I've been away from PB for a number of years and had heard that Mr. Pierson was suffering from Alzheimers. I wish you all comfort in the knowledge he is no longer suffering. He touched many lives. Please know that many of us will always think of him fondly and that he left his mark. My deepest sympathies to you all.
