Phyllis Carol Edwards Hammer (Footie), 77, of Pine Bush, NY, passed away on Friday June 15, 2018 in Northern Riverview Healthcare Center in Haverstraw, New York.

Phyllis was born in Liberty, New York to Marion Brauner and Paul Edwards on March 8, 1941.  She was a Middletown High School graduate.  She worked as a Machine technician for Guild Molders of Middletown for over 15 years and retired from PFW of Hercules Division.  She enjoyed painting, quilting, baking, cooking, and attending church.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Frederick C. Hammer of Pine Bush. Her children, William L. Shoemaker of Alaska, Guy D. Shoemaker of Texas, Wayne D. Shoemaker of New York, Carol M. Gannon of Arizona, and Bonnie-Jo Graziano of New York, three stepchildren; Theresa, Michelle  of California and Donald Hammer of Pine Bush, 20 grand children, 7 great grand children with one on the way, and sister Sharon Hartley of Colorado.  She is preceded in death by her mother, Marion Brauner and her father Paul Edwards

Funeral service and visitation will be held at William M Gagan Funeral Home in Ulster County, New York on Friday June 22, 2018 at 10 AM to 12 Noon with Reverend Michael Switzer of Cornerstone Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at New Prospect Cemetery, Pine Bush New York. William Gagan Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.
