Carmine J. Arlotta, a Retired Terminal Operator for Costal Oil in New Windsor and longtime resident of the area passed away unexpectedly on July 1st 2018 at his home. He was 69. The son of the late Salvatore Arlotta and Frances Longo Arlotta, he was born on April 23, 1949 in Hackensack, NJ. Carmine attended School in the Pine Bush School District and on May 24, 1969, he married Lynette Forestiero in Pine Bush, NY. A Veteran of the US Army, Carmine served his country during Vietnam from 1967-1970 where he achieved the rank of Specialist (E-5). He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Silver Star, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, Sharp Shooter Badge and Rifle Bar. Carmine was also involved in the Catholic War Veterans in Pine Bush, the VFW in Pine Bush, and life Member of the Walden Sportsman Club. Carmine was a hardworking man, loving and caring  husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was the foundation of our family, the strength and glue that kept us bound. He was always quick to crack a joke and brought laughs and smiles to all who had the honor of knowing him. He was a selfless man always putting others needs before his own.  Our family always looked to him for advice, knowledge, help, and reassurance all of which were given in an instant without a second thought. He set the standards of what humanity, strength, courage, kindness and love should be. He will be truly missed and forever in our hearts. Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Lynette at home, his children, Andrew Arlotta, Justine Arlotta-Ayala, brother, Patrick Arlotta, grandchildren, Andrew James Arlotta II, Ashlyn Marie Arlotta and Gabriel Kaveh Ayala. He is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Carmine is predeceased by his siblings, Salvatore V. Arlotta, Angela Kent, and Mark Arlotta, his grandchildren, Raylyn Hope Ayala, and Jovanna Faith Ayala. Visitation will be held on Thursday July 5, 2018 from 5-8pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush. Funeral Services will be offered on Friday July 6, 2018 at 10am at the funeral home with Fr. Perera officiating. Burial will take place in the Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen with Full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Catholic War Veterans and/or the Pine Bush VFW.
