Evelyn “Lynn” Hartmann, 97, of Pine Bush, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, in Middletown, NY. Formerly of Middle Village, NY, Evelyn most recently lived in Pine Bush, NY. Evelyn was lovingly known as “Nannie” by her family. The daughter of Clarence A. Gustafson & Helen Theresa McCormick, Evelyn was born on October 28, 1921, in Brooklyn, NY. She married the love of her life, Julius “Red” Hartmann on May 17, 1941, and spent 52 wonderful years with him. Julius passed away in 1993. Evelyn was a member of the German Hungarian Club in Queens for many years. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards with friends and summer vacations at Sunny Hill Resort. She loved to spend time and play games with her grandchildren – cards, backgammon, and Chinese checkers… letting us win. She loved to talk and always had a story to tell. Evelyn leaves behind her daughter, Linda Scheinert and her husband William of Pine Bush; three granddaughters Coralee Glasspoole and husband Jamie of Pine Bush, Julie Palinkas and husband Christopher of Walker Valley, and Amy Joy Scheinert of Gardiner; 6 great-grandchildren, Tara Shumate and Kristen Castle of NC, Austin and Chase Glasspoole of Pine Bush, Jovan and Meryl Palinkas of Walker Valley, one great-great-granddaughter Natalie Castle of NC and her beloved family dog, Baxter.
Funeral services will be held at William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. on Sunday, December. 23 2018 from 3-5pm in Pine Bush, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Monday December 24, 2018 at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery in Pine Bush, NY. Arrangements entrusted to the William M.
