Richard (Rick) William Walsh, a life long resident of the area passed away peacefully at the age of 63 on Saturday January 5, 2019 at  the Kaplan Hospice Center in Newburgh.  The son of the late Charles P. Walsh and Lillie Sammis Walsh, he was born on July 12, 1955 in Ellenville, NY. Rick served in the United States Army from 1972 -1975 in Fort Hood Texas. Rick went to Alfred state and graduated with an associates degree in Diesel Mechanics and then later retired after 28 years at Yellow Freight.  Rick was a loving caring man with such a good heart. He never ceased  to make you laugh or smile. He was the most caring, generous and loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and uncle. He had a great love for motorcycles and baseball. Survivors include his wife of 44 years Maria E. Walsh, daughter Gina Walsh, granddaughter Madi Doolittle and grandson Steven Doolittle, siblings,  Sharon Palmer, Brian Walsh, Lauren Walsh, Carla Walsh, Christine Bressler and Lea Speake,  stepfather,  Leo Costa and stepmother Joyce Walsh, as well many nieces and nephews. Rick is predeceased by his brother Kevin Walsh. Friends and family may gather on Saturday January 12, 2019 from 1-4pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush, NY 12566. A Memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm at the funeral home followed by Military Honors and the presentation of the flag. Cremation was held at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery in Poughkeepsie NY.
