Jack I Shapiro a nearly life-long resident of the Hudson valley succumbed to Covid-19 on April 11, 2021 at Albany Medical Center. He was born on August 15, 1972 in Amityville, New York, the eldest son of Jeffrey A. Shapiro and Pamela Amerige (Vogt) and grew up in Newburgh, New York. Jack graduated from Valley Central High School and spent the past two plus decades living and working in Montgomery, New York.
From a young age Jack exhibited an intrinsic curiosity for all things mechanical, always looking to understand the inner workings machines and electronics. His love for German cars flourished during his teens and ultimately served as a beacon guiding his career path. Starting his automobile parts and repair business, European Parts Emporium, in his early twenties, he quickly found success due to his keen attention to detail and making sure things were right for his customers. A prolific car enthusiast, he enjoyed sports car racing and solving problems, regularly spending hours trouble-shooting strangers obscure auto issues via internet forums. Jack was always there for his family and friends, often dropping what he was doing to help those in need. He will be deeply missed.
Jack is survived by his long-term partner, Lori Caparaso; his mother, Pamela Vogt and her husband Bob; his father, Jeffrey Shapiro and his wife Leslie; his brother, Saul and his wife Clare Lawler; his sister, Terri Pauselius and her husband Dan; his step-sister Mercedes Bloat; his nieces, Isabel, Sarah, Anna, Elizabeth, and Natalya; his nephew Aidan; and many cherished close friends.
