Please share a memory of Sandra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sandra J. Rhine Wallkill, NY Sandra Jean Rhine, born February 7, 1942, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother has made her final voyage home on Friday May 7, 2021. Sandra attended and graduated from The University of Rhode Island, where she began her dream of becoming a librarian. Sandy was a well loved school librarian in both SS Seward High School in Florida NY, and The Crispell Middle School in Pine Bush, NY, for more than 30 years combined. The three things Sandy love most were her family, books and a cup of hot tea. Not a bad word could be said about Sandy, she was unfailingly kind and compassionate. She would never judge a book or a person by their cover. She always saw the good in people and gave everyone a chance. Sandy was politically correct before it was a thing! Sandy loved her quiet comfy home in the country where she could read, drink her tea and enjoy the beauty of nature. Sandy was not only one of the kindest people who ever lived, but she was also the toughest person on earth. No matter what she was faced with she was always ready to fight the good fight. Her glass was always half full and she never gave up, no matter what. She was the true definition of a warrior. Throughout her life Sandy had many interests. Travel had become a very big part of her life. She loved going new places, meeting new people, and experiencing new things. Hiking had also been a big part of her life, Sandy loved the beauty and serenity nature could provide. Sandy may have loved quiet times, but there was nothing she loved more than the uproarious din of unlimited family filling every square inch of her home, talking, playing, eating, and watching sports at the holiday time. These were her happiest moments in life. Sandy is pre deceased by her parents Earl and Eleanor Berthiaume of Warwick, Rhode Island. She is survived by her long time companion, Richard Feinberg; a daughter Ellen Allis, her husband William of Wallkill, NY, and their four children and one great grandchild; a daughter, Kelly Abiodun, of Middletown, NY and her two children; and a son Ryan Rhine and his wife Denise of Rochester, NY and their two children; many cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews and her sister Cheryl Mosher of Nantucket MA. Services will be held on Wednesday May 12, 2021 from 10 am to 1 pm at William M. Gagan Funeral Home 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush, NY, with a brief service to follow. Immediate family and close friends are invited back to the house for snacks and drinks. Words do not currently exist to explain the monumental loss and excruciating pain the family is currently feeling. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made in Sandy's name to; The Pine Bush Area Public Library, P.O. Box 63 Pine Bush, NY 12566.
