My name is Gerry Rogan. I recently learned of Gerry's death and am sending my sincerest condolences.
Gerry and I attended high school together on Long Island at Saint John The Baptist in West Islip. Gerry moved away after or at the end of junior year and we would have graduated together in 1976. We spent many hours outside the cafeteria and shared plenty of laughs. I recall my disappointment that he was relocating because there were only a few people I felt as friendly with as Gerry.
My wife and I moved to Pine Bush in 1990 to a home in Orange County on Burlingham Rd (the one off 302) and somehow managed to bump into Gerry at the Mobil station in town - a 'small world' event which left me very happy that he and I had somewhat reconnected or just crossed paths again. We would run into each other periodically at Mobil (best coffee around at that time), catch up on things, wish each other well and go our separate ways.
Since I would always be in my work truck Gerry knew I installed fence and he invited me to do the chain link around his pool. I recall his pride of his family as he spoke of Savanah and Jeremy and I could see that his heart was with his wife Jill. He showed me around his hoop superstructure storage building and talked about his plans to build a permanent barn.
Even though we hadn't seen each other in a while, I knew without question that the next time we did he would be wearing that big smile he always had on which hadn't changed a bit since High School.
Please accept my deepest sympathy for your tragic loss.
Respectfully submitted,
Gerry Rogan

I only met Jerry once when he walked me around the property to cut his grass. I remember a couple jokes we shared. He was a good guy that I wish I could have gotten to know a little better. My sincere condolences to the family.
