Deanna Mae (Cavaiola) Dumain (Grandma “Dee Dee”) Pine Bush, NY Deanna Mae (Cavaiola) Dumain was born on October 18, 1940 in Utica, NY to Joseph and Roccatelle Cavaiola. She peacefully passed away on February 8, 2022 with her beloved family by her side. Deanna married Lawrence Dumain on April 12, 1961 and was his amazing partner for over 60 years. After 33 years in Utica, she ventured south to the Hudson Valley Region living first in Montgomery. In 1977, Deanna settled in Pine Bush with her family whom she cherished above everything else. One of her greatest joys was creating gourmet meals for her family which included maintaining a traditional Italian pasta Sunday. She loved taking care of her extended family during holiday seasons and always made it her priority to put others' needs ahead of her own. Those who knew her were truly blessed. She encouraged others by the example she set by treating others just as you would want to be treated. Deanna always reminded her audience to stay humble because we are all created equal by God. She was an extremely kind person who was devoted to her Christian faith. Deanna loved her Amazing Grace Church with Pastor Whitey Cooper. She would often pose the question: Would you prefer the smoking or non-smoking section for your afterlife? Survivors her loving husband Larry, sons Mark and Kevin of Pine Bush, Steven (George) of Berkley, CA; grandchildren Kate (Jeremy) Lopez, Brandon and Courtney Dumain; great-grandchildren Jack and twins due in March, step great-grandchildren Jacob and Jordyn along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter Catherine, her sister Jeanne (Walter) Armstrong, brother-in-laws Walter Armstrong and Sheldon Dumain and nephew Craig Dumain. A special thanks to her caretakers, Sebeana, Gina, and Jamie for all the love and care they showed Mom, and also a special thanks to the staff at Garnet Health Medical Center. Memorial service will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a donation in Deanna’s memory to Amazing Grace Church in Pine Bush or your local food pantry.
