Jose (Joe) Miguel Perez of Pine Bush, New York, passed away with his wife by his side after a short battle with cancer on April 24, 2022. He was 80. The son of the late Evangelista Perez and Inocencia Crespo Perez, he  was born in Rincon, Puerto Rico on May 28, 1941. Jose  spent his childhood in Manhattan, New York before relocating to Pine Bush, New York in 1970 to raise his children with his loving wife Josephine Perez. Jose graduated from Harlem Motor-Vehicle High-school in 1960 and immediately started working for Ford Motor Company. He opened and closed the Mahwah, NJ Ford plant - ending his career with Ford as a Foreman of the vehicle lines. He then started working for Shortline/Coach USA driving busses from Orange County, NY to the Port Authority, in which he retired in 2018. Jose is survived by his loving spouse of 60 years, Josephine Perez, their children, Jose M. Perez Jr. of Pennsylvania, Robert F. Perez of Pine Bush, NY, Michael Perkins and his wife Kathleen Perkins of Pine Bush, NY, Anthony J. Perez of Pine Bush, NY, Vanessa M. Mateo of Oxford, CT, Christina J. Perez of Montgomery, NY, Neldy’s Madera of Middletown, NY, Nita De La Cruz of Middletown, NY, and Edwin De La Cruz of Texas. He has 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a brother, Peter Perez, and his beloved Corgi Charlie. Jose is predeceased by his parents, Evangelista and Inocencia Perez, and his daughter Ada Crespo, who passed away in January 2022. There will be no formal viewing or services. At a later undetermined date the family will have a Celebration of Life in Jose’s Honor.
