Michael Richard Schrader passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at the age of 73 in Pine Bush, NY. His family is deeply saddened by his sudden loss. Mike was born on December 23, 1948 to Theodore and Margaret in the Bronx. He served as a US Marine in Vietnam and was a retired NY City Firefighter after serving for 20 years.  His family will always remember him as a man’s man, someone who would help anyone in need.  Someone who never enjoyed downtime. He was the type of person who would choose to repair something over buying a new one and loved to stay busy with all types of projects.  He loved hunting, and valued hard work, honesty, and the value of a man’s word. Anyone who knew Mike was touched by his kindness and great sense of humor.  He was a true goofball. To his children, he was loving but fair. He made sure to instill his value to treat others with respect.  To his wife, he was loving and caring. He made her feel like the luckiest woman in the world. Survivors include  his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara; his sons Michael (wife Laurel-Ann), Mark, and Eric; 3 grandchildren, Jackson, Ashley and Madison; mother, Margaret; brothers William and Paul; sister Christine; many nieces and nephews; and the rest of his extended family. Mike is predeceased by his father Theodore; brothers Lawrence, Stephen; Sister-in-Law Sharon; and nephews Michael and Stephen. A Celebration of life will be held on May 14, 2022 @ Larry’s Chinese Restaurant and Bar in Pine Bush from 1:00-4:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to The Wounded Warrior Project.
