Mary Jean Geidel longtime resident of the area, passed away on Friday January 6, 2023, at Park Manor Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Middletown. She was 89 years old. The daughter of the late Alice Lambert Rouillard and George H. Rouillard, she was born on January 5, 1934 in Bronx, NY. Mary Jean worked as an Account Clerk for the State of New York at Letchworth Village. She was a longtime parishioner of Saint Paul’s Church in Bullville, NY. Mary Jean loved her children, grandchildren, friends, her garden, reading, and needlepoint. She was a Cub Scout leader and worked in the community assisting in the classroom with special needs children. Active member of her church. She had been a religious education teacher at Saint Peters Church in Haverstraw, NY. Survivors are Jeanann Schechter and her husband Isadore of Windsor, NY; John M. Geidel and his wife Donna of Middletown, NY; Joseph Geidel and his wife Roxann of Middletown, NY. Four grandchildren, Christine Cullen of Rouses Point, NY; Matthew Schechter of Binghamton, NY; Joseph Geidel of Port Jervis, NY; Kaylee Geidel of Littleton, Colorado. Mary Jean was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, John A. Geidel. Visitation will be held on Tuesday January 10, 2023 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush NY. Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Wednesday January 11, 2023 at 10am at St. Paul’s RC Church in Bullville. Burial will take place in the Orange County Veterans Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation P.O.
