Loretta Mangan, a retired schoolteacher, and family Matriarch passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023, in her home in Gardiner, NY. Loretta was born on May 6, 1937, in Astoria, NY to parents John and Violet Hickey. Loretta was a deeply caring person and enjoyed painting and spending time with her friends and family. Loretta leaves behind many pieces of beautiful art that will be enjoyed by her friends and family for generations to come. She lived in Mahopac, NY for more than 50 years and enjoyed being near the lake. She will be remembered for her warmth, kind heartedness, and generosity. She always made time for everyone in her life and helped many find their way. Loretta is survived by her sister Linda, her daughter Lois, son Joe and wife Rachana, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, and nieces. The cremation was private. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date at Saint Lawrence O’Toole cemetery in Brewster, NY where her husband Joseph D. Mangan was buried in 1980.
