Warren Salle
Pine Bush, NY

Warren Salle was many things to many people. He passed away on September 26th, 2024 at the age of 65. Born on November 7, 1958 to Warren P. Salle and Barbara Johannson, he grew up in Chestnut Ridge, NY, where he later raised his own family, before moving to Pine Bush, NY in recent years in anticipation of retirement.

Warren was deeply cherished and adored by anyone who knew him. A pillar of strength, he offered unwavering support and love to those lucky enough to be his family and friends. He always knew the perfect thing to say and was first in line to lend a helping hand or give a hug when it was needed the most. He was eagerly looking forward to retirement and spending his days with his beloved wife, Nancy, and their three dogs, Kyle, Kayleigh, and Lucy. His grandchildren were his whole world and he would often be found tinkering with tractors with Jimmy, having meaningful chats about life with Angela and being the proudest grandparent in the audience at school events.

Warren dedicated his life to serving others. He was a member of the Hugh Gassner Fire Company for over 50 years and served as a commissioner for over 20 years. His fellow firemen were more than friends – they were family, strengthened by countless moments of support in times of triumph and hardship both on and off duty.

No stranger to working hard, he began his career at Ciba-Geigy, then transitioned to the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825, followed by W. Harris & Sons, and most recently All County Asphalt. He formed friendships all along the way and his absence will be profoundly felt by many. The family is deeply comforted that Warren was surrounded by such great people leading into his final days.

Warren is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Nancy Salle (Belowch) and cherished by his children Robert Salle (Cheryl) and Alyssa Ballard (Brian). The title he was most proud of was that of “grandfather” to Angela and Jimmy Ballard. He leaves behind his brother Edward Salle (Trish) and many adored in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Warren P. Salle and Barbara Johansson.

Everyone is invited to attend a Celebration of Life to be hosted at the firehouse at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.  To leave an online condolence, please visit www.wmgaganfuneralhome.com
