Bonita V. Harris Bloomingburg, NY Bonita Vivian Harris passed away on Monday, June 1, 2010 at St. Teresa’s Nursing Home. She was 65. Her final days were spent surrounded by the family she loved so much. Bonita was born on March 4, 1945 in the Bronx, to Agustus and Vivian Ida Imor. Bonita graduated from St. Helena's High School in 1962. From there she began her life and career, giving birth to her only child, Gregory Dante Messina. After meeting her husband, Robert Harris, in 1987 they relocated to Bloomingburg, NY where they built their home together. Bonita began working at the Recovery Center in Monticello, NY where she enjoyed a much loved position as administrative assistant for 10+ years before retiring. Bonita is survived by her husband, Robert Harris at home, loving son Gregory Dante Messina and daughter-in-law Jill Messina of Carmel, NY, darling grandson Nicolas Messina, devoted brothers Augustus "Buddy" Imor and Lance Imor, nieces Lenore Powers, Michele Draxler, Jennifer Schneider and nephews Lance Imor, Kevin Imor and Michael Imor; as well as their loving children. Bonita is further survived by her beloved dogs Ajax and Boone. Visitation was held on Friday June 4, 2010 from 5 to 8pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Road, Pine Bush, NY. A funeral service was held at 7:30pm at the funeral home with Father Kevin Gallagher officiating. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 10:00AM at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Jackson Ave, and Saw Mill River Rd. Hastings-on-Hudson, NY 10706.
