Arthur J. Collins III Arthur J. Collins III, a music industry veteran and loving husband and father, died unexpectedly on July 27, 2005 at his home. He was 52. Son of the late Arthur J. Collins Jr. and Mary R. Collins, he was born June 3, 1953 in West Hartford, Conn. Self-employed founder of Art Collins Management, Arthur had been the manager for rock pioneer Iggy Pop since 1985. He has been a prominent figure in the music business since joining the publicity department at Atlantic Records in the late 1970s. He was a member of the New Prospect Church in Pine Bush, N.Y. Survivors include his wife, Nikki Collins; his stepsons, Travis McGee and Kiernan McGee and fiancee Amanda Altmann; his brother Danny Collins and wife Robin; his sister Mary C. Wilson and husband Jack; and nieces Megan Wilson, Ann W. McWaters and Gabrielle Collins. A family statement reads, "Art was a caring and beloved companion, father, brother, son and friend. His ebullient personality and engaging sense of humor touched those fortunate enough to have been a part of his life. The endless generosity he demonstrated on a daily basis, is felt all the more in his death. He will be truly missed and never forgotten." Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 29 at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30 at the New Prospect Church, 2964 State Route 52, Pine Bush, NY. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Pine Bush Ecumenical Food Pantry, PO Box 148, Pine Bush, NY 12566. Arrangements were made by the William M. Gagan Funeral Home.
