Obituary of Joan L. Howard

Joan L. Howard of Pine Bush passed away on Tuesday January 12, 2010 at Montgomery Nursing home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 8, 1927 to the late Herman and Florence Stegeman. She married the late Charles Howard on June 25, 1947 and resided in Queens, NY until retiring to Northville, NY in 1982. Joan is survived by her loving son Charles Howard and his wife Lynn of Pine Bush, grandchildren, Robert and his wife Shanna of Portland, ME, Jennifer of Highland Mills, Kimberly Fenical and her husband Al of Pine Bush, and Andrew also of Pine Bush. She is further survived by her 3 great grandchildren, Ryan and Molly Howard, and Conner Fenical. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff of Montgomery Nursing Home. Their professional care and personal attention were greatly appreciated. Visitation will be held on Saturday January 16, 2010 from 11:00am-2:00pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham RD ,Pine Bush, NY. Funeral services will take place at 1:30pm at the funeral home with Pastor Robert B. Hewitt officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Northville, NY.
