James C. Howe of Thompson Ridge, formerly of Rosendale. died October 6, 2004 peacefully surrounded by family. He was 82. Seamus was born in Dublin, Ireland on September 28, 1922. His parents were Bridget (McGovern) Howe and James George Howe. He served as an Air Gunner for the Royal Air Force during WWII. He emigrated to the USA in 1957. He was a gardener for the Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz for a period of time. He was also a laborer in the area for many years. Survivors include a sister; Anna Young of Swinden, England; nieces and nephews, Barry, Gregory and Steven Young and their families of Swinden England, Linda Howe of Queens, and Michael, David, Robert, Susan and Gwen of Ireland; and a dear friend, Cheryl Horn of Springhill, Fla. and her son, Jason Bela and his wife, Bridget,of Atlanta GA.He was lovingly cared for by the Woolsey family, James, Jean, Taylor, Jeanette and Casey of Thompson Ridge; the Green family, Daryl, Janet, Lana, Nathan,and Geneva; the Ronk family, Norman, Debbie, Cassandra, Dustin and Dakota, all of New Paltz; Billy, Tammy and Alfyse Horn of Long Island; Jackie Horn and Jeff and Lara and Aaron Himes of Florida; Mrs. Louella Horn Knowles of Spring Hill Fla. the Lewis family, Mark, Pat, Uriah, Nadine and Hannah of High Falls; John Rahl and Don Depuy of Rosendale and Gloria Como of Kingston. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home,Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd. Pine Bush.NY A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 12 at 2 p.m. with Father William Damroth officiating. Burial will follow in the Bloomingburg Cemetery.
