Patricia A. Barrett-Buerger Bradenton, Fla. Formerly of Walker Valley, NY Patricia A. Barrett-Buerger, a retired Corrections Officer for the New York State Department of Corrections- Eastern Correctional Facility, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on April 14, 2010 at the Tidewell Hospice Home, in Bradenton, Florida. She was 49. The daughter of the late Walter Barrett and Martha Walsh Barrett, Patricia was born on April 6, 1961 in the Bronx. She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Roebuck and her husband Jeff Siegel of Monticello, NY, brother Walter Barrett and his wife Becky of Walker Valley, NY, husband, Mark Buerger at home, nephews, John Roebuck, and Justin and Michael Barrett all of Walker Valley, NY, niece, Becca Barrett, of Walker Valley, NY, two great-nephews, Jonathan and Joshua Roebuck also of Walker Valley, NY as well as several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, and is further survived by her beloved dog Frenchie. Patricia is predeceased by her brother Kevin Barrett. Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 from 5 to 8PM at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Road, Pine Bush, NY 12566. A funeral service will be held at 7:00PM at the funeral home, with Pastor Robert B. Hewitt officiating. In lieu of flowers donations in Patricia’s name may be made to the Tidewell Hospice Home, 1751 Mound Street, Sarasota, Florida, 34236 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
