Obituary of Rose Huntoon

Rose Huntoon Pine Bush, NY Rose Huntoon, a homemaker and a lifelong resident of the area, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at ORMC, Horton campus. She was 79. The daughter of the late Stephen Pondi and Rose Ondrovic Pondi, she was born July 11, 1929 in Tomkins Cove, NY. She was a member of the Pine Bush Senior Citizens, and The Church of the Infant Saviour. She is survived by: two loving sons, John Huntoon and his wife, Lynne of Pine Bush, and Paul Huntoon of Alabama; one loving sister, Dorothy Hyde and her husband, Donal of Pine Bush; one loving brother, Stephen Pondi of Georgia; and one loving granddaughter, Kara Huntoon of Deerpark. Many nieces and nephews further survive her. Her daughter, Dawn T. Huntoon, one niece, Diane Rose Hyde, and John "Frank" Huntoon predeceased her. Visitation will be held today, Monday, January 7, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush, NY 12566. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 8, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Kevin Gallagher officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in New Prospect Cemetery.
