Barbara J. Kirchner Burlingham, NY Barbara J. Kirchner, a retired Cytology Assistant with Horton Hospital and longtime resident of he area passed away on Tuesday July 14, 2015 at Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 77. The daughter of the late Edward Walsh and Ann Stykitus Walsh, she was born on April 18, 1938 in Jersey City, NJ. A family statement reads, " Barbara was a loving mother and grandmother, always giving of herself. She was an intellect who loved to engage on contemporary issues and enjoyed poetry, reading, and writing. She loved to garden, loved warm ocean breezes and walks on the beach, and was cherished by her cat "Baby Kitty". Barbara also enjoyed good food, sinful desserts, and her beloved New York Yankees." Survivors include her children, Donna Soto-McGrath of Fishkill, Joseph Kirchner Jr. of Burlingham, Dawn Ercoloni of Tuscon, AZ, Dana Morales of Bloomingburg and Danette Kirchner of North Carolina, 2 sisters, Susan Tadesco and Jeananne Schoepfel, 1 brother, Curtis Smiley, 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Barbara is further survived by many nieces and nephews, and is predeceased by her husband, Joseph K. Kirchner, daughter, Denise Judd, and grandson, Joseph Kirchner III. A celebration of life will take place on Friday July 24, 2015 from 2-4pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd. Pine Bush, NY.
