Obituary of Dorothy E. Knauer

Dorothy E. Knauer Pine Bush - Dorothy E. Knauer, a nurse's aid for Montgomery Nursing Home and a lifetime resident of the area passed away peacefully on November 29, 2007 at ORMC Horton Campus with her family by her side. She was 63 years old. The daughter of the late Joseph Shay & Lillian Jarvis Shay, she was born on June 19, 1944 in Walden. A family statement reads: "Dorothy was the most loving, caring, and wonderful mother. She had endless devotion to her family and is now at home with her parents." She is survived by: her loving son, Art Knauer and his wife, Kimberly, of Dingmans Ferry, Pa.; loving daughter, Christine Knauer-Baggatta and her husband, Jeff, of Pine Bush; loving sister, Ruth Grossi, of Pine Bush; 8 loving grandchildren: Artie, Victoria, Meghan, Melanie, Brandon, Nicole, Jeffery, and Billy; two great- grandchildren, Logan and Natalee; as well as several nieces and nephews. Art Knauer Sr, further survives her. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 2 from 2-5 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush, NY 12566. Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 3 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Robert B. Hewitt officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in New Prospect Cemetery.
