Irene Batelli, a retired clerk for Textile Banking in New York City, and seven-year resident of Pine Bush, formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., died Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Northern Manor Center in Nanuet, N.Y. She was 88. The daughter of Georges Edward Verreault and Josephine Bernard Verreault, she was born November 13, 1917 in Quebec City, Canada. The widow of Fred Batelli, she is survived by her loving children: Lise Finan and her husband, Bob, of Pine Bush, Nancy Roccaforte and her husband, Charles, of Virginia Beach, Va., Robert Batelli and his wife, Deborah, of Montgomery; one daughter-in-law, Louisette Barbeau of Quebec, Canada; 12 grandchildren: Debra, Cherie, Thomas, Charles, Michael, Linda, Anthony, Kathy, Shawn, Laura, Christopher, Julianne; 14 great-grandchildren: Thomas, Cherie Lee, Joseph, Amber, Matthew, Taylor, Jake, Ricky, Haley Rose, Robbie, Dorian, Zachery, Aaron and Alyssa; and one nephew, Serge Thibault and his wife, Barb; and also survived by a few cousins in Quebec, Canada. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Batelli; and her son, Serge Barbeau. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 2, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, Inc., 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush, N.Y. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 2 at 8 p.m. in the funeral home with Deacon John Frohbose officiating. Cremation will be at Cedar Hill Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Foundation. Arrangements were made by the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, Inc.
