Michael Landman Pine Bush, NY Michael Landman, beloved Husband, Father, and Father in Law passed away on Friday December 7, 2012 at his home where he was most comfortable with his family by his side. He was born in Bronx, New York on December 20, 1957 to Marvin and Ada Landman. He grew up in New City, where he lived with his parents and loving brothers, Andrew and Jonathan. Michael grew up in a close-knit family where he spent summers in Lake Lincolndale with his grandparents, parents, brothers, and supportive aunts, Adrienne and Charlotte. Michael always looked up to his father, Marvin, who was also his best friend. He went to college for a short time, but decided that he wanted to continue the legacy that his father started, known as Butcher Boys. This legacy, in the fourth generation, still stands today and is run by his son Jake. Owning his first butcher shop in Mahopac, New York, not only brought him success, but it led him to meet his loving wife, Joanne, of 31 years. Together they built a loving family, raising five children: Stephen, Nicole, Allen, Jake, and Bennie. Michael was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2002. Doctors predicted a poor prognosis, but due to his fight, determination, and supportive family, he beat all the odds. For the last 10 years he has been nothing less than a miracle, inspiring all those around him at home, work, and in the community. He met Gretchen and Fritz Meir at their physical therapy practice in Pine Bush, New York. Both Gretchen and Fritz along with their staff have helped build his confidence and get him back on his feet. Because of his will and courage, he was known to many as Magic Mike, and was honorably asked to become the Grand Marshall, at the 2012 Relay for Life in Pine Bush, New York. Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, his five children, his son-in-law Chris, his two sister-in-laws Denise and Cyndy, his cousins Randi, Rochelle, Larry, Dennis, Howard, and Michelle, and his nieces and nephew Jessica, Hillary, and Joshua. Michael will always be remembered as a caring, giving, and loving person to all he knew. Visitation will be held on Monday December 10, 2012 from 3-5 & 7-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush. Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday December 11, 2012 at 1pm at the Cedar Park Cemetery Beth El in Paramus, NJ.
