Obituary of Steven J. Martinez

Steven J. Martinez, a senior at Pine Bush High School, and part-time employee at Brimstone Hill Winery, and lifetime resident of the area, died April 8, 2006 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, N.Y. He was 18. The son of Steven A. Martinez and Jo-Ann Candelario Martinez, he was born August 31, 1987 in Newburgh, N.Y. Steven was to graduate from Pine Bush High School, Class of 2006, this coming June. He was a member of S.A.V.E. at the school. A family statement reads: "Steven was a good-natured person who always had a smile on his face and a joke for everyone." He is survived by his mother, Jo-Ann, and stepfather, Howard S. Fisher, of Pine Bush; his father, Steven A. Martinez, and stepmother, Vicki, of Modena; two brothers, Anthony and Alex; one sister, Brittany; maternal grandparents, Joe and Laurie Cherry of Newburgh; paternal grandmother, Emily J. Lent of New Windsor; paternal grandfather, Mrs. and Mrs. Manuel Martinez of Marlboro; great-grandmother, Antoinette Moreau of New Jersey; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, Inc., 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush, N.Y. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 13 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Father Kevin Gallagher officiating. Cremation will follow in Cedar Hill Crematory, with inurnment at Cedar Hill Mausoleum at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Steven J.
