Obituary of Evelyn E. Mercay

Evelyn E. Mercay Mercay, Evelyn Evangeline Edmonds, 89 , of Winsted, CT went home to be with her Lord, Wednesday,March 11, 2009. Born in Dover Plains, NY, the daughter of the late David and Ella Turner. Evelyn graduated from Dover Plains High School and Kriessler Business School in Poughkeepsie, NY. Evelyn lived in Pine Bush, NY where she enjoyed her friends and neighbors for 62 years. She was predeceased by her first husband Philip W. Edmonds, infant son Fredrick W. Edmonds, and infant granddaughter Tabitha Zwart. Evelyn has been an active member of Harmony Baptist Church for over 25 years and belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary and Phythian Sisters. She enjoyed gardening and her pets. She is survived by her husband Lorance of 32 years , her son Philip W Edmonds, Jr and his wife Rosalind of California, her daughter Carol Zwart and husband Kenneth of Connecticut. She leaves 7 grandsons and 5 great grandsons. A memorial service will be held at 11:30pm Saturday, March 14 at Harmony Baptist Church, Route 211, Middletown, NY. Interment will be private. Contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
