Obituary of Anthony Peter Pirog

Anthony Peter Pirog "Pokey Pete" Pine Bush, NY Peter Pirog, a self employed Truck Driver and lifelong resident of the area passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2010 in Cooperstown, NY. He was 55. The son of Eugene Pirog and the late Renee Bettinger Pirog he was born on May 23, 1955 in Pine Bush NY. A family statement reads" Peter was an avid hunter, loving husband, and devoted father as well as a devoted brother. Peter was a proud father and totally dedicated to" his girls". Survivors include his loving wife Ernestine Arthur Pirog, daughters Renee and Lacey Pirog of Pine Bush, brothers Eugene and Stephen Pirog, Uncles Fred Pirog and his wife Pat and Louis Pirog and his wife Nonnie, his Aunt Stacia Kelley as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his mother in law, Louise Arthur. Peter is predeceased by his brother Joseph Elliot Pirog, aunts Agnes Pirog, Sophie Stueber Pirog, Genevieve Pirog Derry, and Johanna Pirog Youngs. Visitation will be held today Tuesday November 30, 2010 from 6-9pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham RD Pine Bush. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday December 1, 2010 at 11:00am at the Church of the Infant Saviour with Fr. Kevin Gallagher officiating. Burial will take place in New Prospect Cemetery.
