Edward John Platt
Edward John Platt, a resident of the area for 45 years, passed away Friday, September 29, 2006 at O.R.M.C., Horton Campus in Middletown, N.Y. He was 82.
The son of John Platt and Madeline Fohs Platt, Edward was born July 13, 1924 in New York City. He was the husband of Mary Santos Platt.
Edward was a retired president and owner of Technicraft Lapidaries Corporation, New York City. He was a member of Church of the Infant Saviour, Pine Bush; the Walker Valley Senior Citizens Club; and of the Pine Bush Senior Citizens Club.
Survivors include beloved wife of 61 years, Mary at home; son, Edward Jr.; granddaughters: Colleen, Dawn, Victoria, and Megan; great-grandchildren: Midori, Carina, Amelia and Anthony; and one sister, Elinor.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 1, 2006 from 1-5 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham Road, Pine Bush.
Funeral service will be on Monday, October 2, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Father Kevin Gallagher will officiate. Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery, Pine Bush.
