Obituary of Constance Runge

Constance Jean Tapley Runge, of Poughkeepsie, a retired Graphics Designer for IBM Asia-Pacific, World Trade Headquarters in Westchester Co., where she enjoyed working in the Graphics Center, died Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at The Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 73. The daughter of the late Lloyd A. Tapley and Elva M. Craig Tapley, she was born on August 30, 1933 in Greenwich, CT. Constance was a past member of the Dutchess Co. Art Association, IBM Art Club, and others. She won many awards in regional juried shows. Her watercolors and oils are in several collections in the US, Ireland and Denmark. Survivors include her three loving sons: Ronald Knittle and his companion Diane of Pine Bush, NY; Carl Knittle and his companion Kim of New Hampshire; and Barry Knittle, his wife Evelyn and loving granddaughter Olivia of Mt. Kisco, NY; three loving sisters: Christina Bunting and her husband George of N. Ft. Myers, Fl; Kathleen Barnes and her husband Al of Englewood, Fl; and Patricia Gottlieb and her husband John of Windsor, NY; and 14 loving Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Alton, Dwight and Lloyd. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Graham’s United Presbyterian Church on the corner of Depot and New Street, Pine Bush, NY at 11:00am. Pastor Robin Hogle will officiate. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will take place immediately following the service at the New Prospect Cemetery, Pine Bush, NY.
