William G. Salo Jr.
Bloomingburg, NY
William Salo Jr, a 35 year resident of the area passed away on
Monday November 15, 2010 at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center
in the Bronx. He was 78. The son of the late William G. Salo Sr.
and Miriam Ahde Salo, he was born on March 24, 1932 in New Port,
New Hampshire. William was employed as a publisher for the
McGraw-Hill Publishing Company in New York City. He proudly
served his country in the United State Air Force from 1951-1955.
William is survived by his sons, Craig Salo and his wife Jackie of
Middletown, Keith Salo and his wife MaryKay of Texas, and Scott
Salo of Washingtonville, one brother, Fred Salo of Vermont,
grandchildren, Kimberley, Kelly, Kiersten and Kathryn Salo, several
nieces, nephews, and is further survived by his former
wife Susan Salo of Monroe. William was predeceased by his
sister Joyce Gagnon, and his former wife Helen Gohlik.
Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday November 18, 2010 from
5-8pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham
Road, Pine Bush. A memorial service will be held at 7:30pm at the
funeral home. Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in
Newburgh. Arrangements are entrusted to the William M. Gagan
