Obituary of Ramona Colon Sapio

Ramona Colòn Sapio Pine Bush, NY Ramona Colòn Sapio, home maker and longtime resident of the area passed away on Wednesday January 12, 2011 at the Northern Manor in Nanuet. She was 71. The daughter of the late Saturnino Colòn and Natividad Agròn Colòn, she was born on March 3, 1939 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Ramona was a member of the Church of the Infant Saviour in Pine Bush, and a member of 100 Hispanic Women Inc, Albany Chapter. Survivors include her children; Sam Sapio of Middletown, Janet Sapio-Mayta and her husband Peter Jr. of Guilderland, NY, Nancy Sapio M.D and her husband David Taffany of Clifton Park, NY, Susan Sapio of Pine Bush, Anita Sapio of Albany, and Sonia Hyneman and her husband Jay of Shillington, PA, 10 grandchildren; Samantha, Peter III, Daniel, Alexandra, Sonia, Sotera, Laurel, Alexander, Isabella, and Lucas J., brothers; Otillio, Rudolfo, Luiz, and Carlos Colòn, sisters; Aida Gonzalez and Gladys Cartegena. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ramona is predeceased by her husband Lucas J. Sapio, her sisters; Tutti and Fela Colòn, grandson; Brian Sapio, and granddaughter Ariana Mercedes Mayta. Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday January 16, 2011 from 2-5pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham RD Pine Bush. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday January 17, 2011 at 10:00am at the Church of the Infant Saviour with Fr.
