Obituary of Leonard G. Schmidt

Leonard G. Schmidt Formerly of Bullville, NY Cape Coral, Florida Leonard G. Schmidt, a retired General Contractor for Fred L. Schmidt & Son Construction, and lifelong resident of the area, passed away on Friday April 9, 2010 at Cape Coral Hospital in Cape Coral, Florida. He was 85. The son of the late Fred L. Schmidt and Alice Halter Schmidt, he was born on December 14, 1924 in Middletown NY. Leonard served his county in the US Army, during the European Theater in WWII. He was an Honorary Member and Past President of the Circleville Fire Company. Survivors include his son, Robert L. Schmidt and his wife Nancy of Killington, VT, daughter, Cathy A. Schmidt of Laguna Niguel, California, 2 grandchildren, Laura M. (Schmidt) Johnson and her husband Mike of Moorpark, California and Thomas R. Schmidt of Boston Mass, 2 cousins, Lorraine Terwilliger and Pat Cosgrove. He is predeceased by his wife Anita (Wychunas) Schmidt, sister, Violet Probala, and his brothers, Howard and Fred Schmidt. A graveside service and burial of ashes will be held on Saturday April 17, 2010 at 11:00am at the Bullville Cemetery, Rte 17k Bullville, NY.
